Music has always been a part of Cristi's life. She's been singing for as long as she can remember. She grew up in a house full of musicians listening to a wide range of music from Led Zeppelin to Alabama and loved it all. She's still singing everything from that good old Classic Rock to the heart filled Country music. Cristi started playing the guitar at an early age. She began sitting in and singing with local bands in the 1990’s and eventually became the lead singer for a band called Honky Tonk Angel in Silver Spring, MD. That’s where she met Gary Falwell. They played all around the Silver Spring area for two years with Honky Tonk Angel. She came to see her neighbor's band Pandora and met Kenn Treworgy and they eventually became Poverty Ridge and have been making music together ever since.
Kenn's first instrument was a plastic "Roy Roger's Guitar" he got for Christmas age 6. He got his first "REAL" electric guitar in high school. He went on to Graduate from Berklee College of Music in Boston. His first paying music job was giving guitar lessons at Ken-Wheaton Music & Wheaton Music. He started playing in Falstar (Wedding & Event Band) band for the money, but eventually got tired of wearing tuxedos & playin "Mack the Knife" He left with the drummer to form a rock band called "Bodacious Brothers". They recorded & released two original albums with noteable guest artists Nils Lofgren from Bruce Springsteen's "E Street Band" and Mark Wenner from the "NightHawks". That band eventually morphed into "Pandora" with the addition of Gary Falwell and Whitney Pearsall on vocals.

Pete’s musical influences came from selections of Classical, R&B, Motown, and 70’s to Current Rock that he grew up listening to and has made up the chemistry of his playing. Pete loves bacon! Pete’s primary equipment consists of Genz Benz Amps, Carvin Bass Cabs, Earnie Ball Sting Ray HH and Music Man SB14 bass guitars. Pete is a positive forward thinking motivated and self-taught musician and takes pride in his musicianship and being part of Poverty Ridge….did I mention Pete loves bacon?
I have always loved music. When I was little, I would carry a radio around everywhere I went. I participated in chorus and Band (Trumpet/ Trombone) throughout Elementary and Middle School. But, Everything Changed when I went to a HighSchool Football Game with my Older Brother. There was a Huge Band Playing Great Music..... And then the Drummers Started to Play a funky style of Music that Originates from the D.C. Area know as GoGo. People were Cheering and Dancing, and I was Hooked ! The Summer before Entering HighSchool, I signed up for Band & Marching Band. I Showed Up and said, "I want to be a Drummer and Play GoGo at the Games". The Music Teacher Quickly Told me, " You will NOT be a Drummer in My Class, You WILL be a Percussionist". Also, I was told that since I had Never Marched that I would have to Play Cymbals.... I was very Disappointed but kept with it, I Knew it would take Practice and Commitment. I Practiced a lot and Played in the Concert, Symphonic, Marching/Pep, and Steel Drum Bands, as well as Percussion with the Orchestra, I learned to Appreciate All Styles of Music as well as the Importance of SILENCE. I Made the Snare Line, and my last two years I played Quads (Leader of the GoGo).
